MaxLove Project’s 3rd annual “Farm to Fork Dinner”

09.07.17

MaxLove Project—an Orange County nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of child cancer survivors and their families—will celebrate their third annual “Farm To Fork Dinner” on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 5 p.m at Tanaka Farms in Irvine.

The Farm to Fork Dinner is a farm-to-table dining experience, serving MaxLove families and community members. The evening features Happy Hour with handcrafted cocktails, a 4-course family-style dinner showcasing seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients prepared by Chef Azmin Ghahreman of Sapphire Laguna, and an after-dinner lounge with dessert and live music.

Farm to Fork features the culinary talents of Ghahreman, who has been committed to childhood nutrition throughout his career, launching “Sapphire at School” in 2008, a lunch program that prepares fresh, wholesome meals for over 4,000 O.C. students daily.

“What Maxlove Project is doing is a groundbreaking effort to teach patients and their families how choose better diet and nutrition by educating all involved,” Ghahreman said. “As a culinarian it is my job to facilitate this need. After all ‘food is medicine.’”

Though tickets, $100, are still available to the “App-Off” portion of the event (where several Orange County “MaxLove Project Gold Apron Society” chefs will share their farm fresh starters), tickets to the dinner have SOLD OUT more than a month ahead of the event for the first time in its short but powerful run.

Last year, Farm to Fork Diners raised $206,000 to combat childhood cancer and aid survivors. MaxLove Project’s inaugural Farm to Fork Dinner in 2015 raised $35,000 to benefit children’s cancer survivorship research and support programs; the event is the organization’s largest annual fundraiser.

Sponsors and MaxLove supporters include: Lily’s Sweets Sugar-Free Chocolate (presenting sponsor); Tanaka Farms; Sapphire Culinary Group; Zov’s Restaurants; Haven Gastropub; Electric City Butcher; Eilo; Putnam Accessory Group; Straub Distribution; The Hunt Collection; Newport Meat Company; The Recon Group; Human Longevity, Inc.; ZSweet; ONEHOPE Wine; Bonterra Vineyards; Tito’s Handmade Vodka; Dr. John’s Sugar-Free Candy; and Lagunitas Brewing Company.

Donations can still be made to MaxLove Project in support of this event. Additional information can be found at mlpfarmdinner.org/
