Tasty Pork Clouds
12.18.17
Products show up on my doorstep for me to try and test out and I only write about the ones that I like and think you might like, too. When Bacon’s Heir’s sent me Pork Clouds, aka Chicharonnes I was so skeptical. I didn’t think this snack food would be something that I would like. I was wrong. They tasted great, and I love that they’re high in protein and low in carbs. Almost an alternative to beef jerky. Currently, they are not in stores in OC, but you can find them in LA and online at baconsheir.com.
Pork Clouds are cooked in olive oil, only 100 calories per bag and a great source of protein. All flavors are gluten-free and free of added hormones, which makes these the perfect guilt-free snack. They are paleo and keto friendly, too.
Pork Clouds take fresh pork skin, melt off the fat, cure the skin in salt, and rapidly puff it in olive oil. The six flavors include Rosemary & Sea Salt, Garlic-Thyme, Malabar Black Pepper, Szechuan Garlic, Habanero Peppers and Cinnamon Ceylon. They also make Pork Panko, an alternative to panko breadcrumbs. You can replace breadcrumbs one to one to replace empty carbs with collagen protein.

Nikki Bostwick, Creator of the Fullest in Laguna beach
12.16.17
Meet Nikki Bostwick, founder and editor-in-chief of The Fullest in Laguna Beach. It’s a digital and print magazine, a Laguna Beach retail shop and event creator. There’s a lot to stay up-to-date on. The Fullest is your go-to source for inspo on all things wellness-related — with a real-world twist.
Tell us about your inspiration to open the Fullest Pop-Up Shop.
My main inspiration to open the shop was to be able to connect with my digital readership in real life! I also felt that Orange County, in particular, could use a space like ours that represents a sense of style, integrity behind the products we sell, and a place where people could connect over various gatherings and really build a supportive community that is reflective of their personal values and interests. Our store is an open canvas, to inspire creativity through clarity of the mind. We also have a mid-century couch and chairs, around a coffee table filled with books from a reprint of the US Constitution to Art books and cookbooks. We want people to feel welcome to hang out and philosophize together as well as with the staff.
When did you open?
June 2017.
What are some of your favorite things that you carry and why?
I love that we carry Living Libations. It’s my favorite line of self-care beauty products- from their essential oils and face oils to breast massage oil, and down to their holistic dental care, it's tough to leave the shop without something from Living Libations in your bag.
What are the product categories?
We have beauty and self-care products, organic pantry items (snacks, chocolates, herbs, teas, etc.), to clothing, accessories, home goods, and books.
How does your store differ from others in the area?
Many stores just fill their space up with as much inventory as possible, but we have a minimalist mentality. Quality over quantity. And that's applied to material consumption as well as friendships/relationships!
How do you choose your merchandise?
Basically, I buy for myself--anything that I personally use and can stand behind or am in love with at the moment!
What are you most excited about?
I am most excited about expanding our community events and offering more ways to connect, like Kundalini Yoga, Run Club, pop-ups within our store like our ongoing partnership with Rye Goods Bakery on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.!
Are you carrying anything special for the holidays?
We are actually hosting a holiday market in Laguna Beach at Seven Degrees where I’ve personally curated a list of over 20 brands to join us and bring conscious shopping for the day to our local community. Not only are you purchasing amazing, high-quality products, you’re also supporting small businesses and non-profits. It’s a win-win whether you’re purchasing something for yourself or buying gifts for the holidays!
Open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Fullest is at 353 N. Coast Highway in Laguna Beach
