Free Screening Bike Beyond at Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center

If you have type one diabetes, or have a loved one living with type one diabetes, you’ll want to attend a free event at the Mary & Dick Allen Diabetes Center at Hoag on Friday, Sept. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. Their screening Bike Beyond, the documentary that follows a team of 20 individuals living with Type 1 diabetes, who came together in June 2017 with a shared goal to ride across the country from New York to San Francisco.

The film follows their 10-week journey and highlights the emotional, social and physical highs and lows, the impact upon communities along the route and across social media, and showcases what it means to thrive with this chronic illness.

Some of the riders will be in attendance to share their personal stories and inspire those with T1D.

Results Driven Skincare To the Rescue

Do you feel confused when you consider the hundreds of skin care products out there? I get it. It can be overwhelming, costly and some products just aren’t that great. I’m always up for trying something new, and I also love natural products like Organic Rosehip Seed Oil for my skin, as well as Kiehl’s products and my fave and way too expensive Crème de La Mer.

My three fave products from the new collection include the Anti-Wrinkle Brightening C-erum that’s packed with 15% Vitamin C (THD), infused with multiple powerful ingredients. It’s designed to brighten your complexion, improve dark spots and discoloration and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. I’m using it twice a day on my face, décolleté and I love it.  

The other standout product that I can’t get enough of is the Transforming Melting Cleanser. As soon as it's mixed with water, it changes from a balm to oil into a silky emulsion. My skin is naturally desert dry, yet this cleanser never dries out my skin as most do, it’s hydrating, soothing and calm.

I also love the Triple-Action Resurfacing Peel. It’s exfoliating and contains a 10% acid duo with papaya enzymes and ultrafine micro-polishing beads that aren’t harsh or abrasive to your skin. It also helps to improve uneven skin tone, texture and helps with hydration and improves spots and hyperpigmentation
