Craft Revolution at Orange County Center for Contemporary Art

Orange County Center for Contemporary Art (OCCCA) presents Craft Revolution showing through Saturday, March 23. Craft Revolution shows works with the unity of inspiration and skill philosophers call “craft.” The show includes drawings, paintings, collages, sculpture, ceramics, weavings, architectural plans and maquettes. There are even examples in interior design, furniture design, fashion design, photography, video, and installation art.

The juror, Staci Steinberger, associate curator, Decorative Arts and Design at LACMA selected unusual, avant-garde, hybrid artworks that merge together elements of fine art and traditional crafts.

Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Thursday - Sunday.

Lunch & Lecture with Dustin Gimbel

Sherman Library & Gardens welcomes Dustin Gimbel, landscape designer/horticulturist and potter/ceramics designer on Friday, March 15, 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.  Gimbel will speak on sculpture and modernism. Sculpture can be found throughout the gardens and landscapes; in plants, boulders, contours of the land and in objects created by hand, such as sculpture and ceramics.
