Balboa Bay Resort, Newport Beach’s premier waterfront resort, has love on the brain and will be offering guests and locals sweet Valentine’s Day offerings.
Valentine’s Day Dinner: This Valentine’s Day, treat your love to a romantic dinner that would make Cupid proud at Balboa Bay Resort’s signature restaurant, Waterline. Perfect for two, the menu features a 30-day Dry Aged Tomahawk Steak and Fresh Roasted Whole Snapper carved tableside by Executive Chef Octavio Sabado. The dinner will be held on February 14 and 15, 5:30 – 10 p.m. and reservations can be made through Open Table, or by calling 949.645.5000.
Bubbly & Bourbon: For the singles or those looking to avoid a traditional Valentine’s Day celebration, A&O Kitchen+Bar, is hosting Bubble & Bourbon. Imbibers can expect sparkling wine, smooth bourbon, coastal shareable bites and live music from 8 p.m. – 11 p.m. This event will be held on a walk-in basis from 11 a.m. – 1 a.m. on Friday, February 14.

Soka Performing Arts Center presents Hub New Music with Special Guest Kojiro Umezaki on Sunday, April 26, at 3 p.m. Called “contemporary chamber trailblazers” by the Boston Globe – comprised of flute, clarinet, violin, and cello – Hub New Music is forging new pathways in the 21st-century repertoire. Through creative programming and ambitious commissioning projects, the quartet of “intrepids” (WQXR) celebrates the fluidity and diversity of today’s classical music landscape. Its performances have been described as “gobsmacking” (Cleveland Classical) and “innovative” (WBUR).
Tickets are $27-$55 and are now available online at performingarts.soka.edu, at the Box Office at 1 University Drive in Aliso Viejo or by calling (949) 480-4ART (4287).
