Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina’s new art program
02.28.17
Art enthusiasts have a new spot to see inspiring works from internationally acclaimed artists. Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina just partnered with San Diego-based dealer Alexander Salazar on art exhibitions in the North Tower.
The inaugural exhibition debuts on Thursday, March 2 and showcases Humanity, a new series of 10 works by local Abstract Expressionist painter Walter Redondo. Created to express how humankind unites, whether deliberately or by life's design, Redondo envisions a world where it is safe to express the ideas, thoughts and personal experiences that lead to relationships and community. On view through September 2, the exhibition speaks to the artist belief that hope will inspire healing, comfort and unity.
This new program will complement the hotel’s recently installed event space artwork, with works of twenty-two contemporary artists feature throughout the indoor and outdoor venues, including Marina Walk, a beautiful public walkway with sweeping views of the waterfront.

02.28.17
Grammy nominated singer-songwriter and longtime back up vocalist for Leonard Cohen, Perla Batalla will perform on Saturday, March 4 at 10 p.m. at Church of the Messiah. The 8 p.m. show is sold out.
Presented by Santa Ana Sites and produced in association with the Boca de Oro: Art & Literature Fringe Festival and Church of the Messiah in Santa Ana, Batalla brings her powerful voice to the oldest operating church in Orange County. The performance takes place within the framework of the Boca de Oro: Art & Literature Fringe Festival, bringing Cohen’s poetic lyrics and Batalla’s dynamic voice to a celebration of literary minds.
