2017 BREEDERS’ CUP FESTIVAL at Del Mar

Del Mar Racetrack will be hosting the 2017 Breeders’ Cup Festival, a week-long series of events leading up to the 34th annual World Championships on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4.
Tickets are going fast for the two-day Super Bowl of racing, the Breeders’ Cup, yet there are still tickets available for the infield festival on Friday, Nov. 3 at $35, and VIP tickets for the Trackside Chalet are available, which is an $1,100 package for both days including food and beverages.
Designed to showcase the best of San Diego’s local culture, the Breeders’ Cup Festival programming will include a host of events, from golf and poker tournaments and musical performances to art walks and food festivals, for visiting guests and locals alike to enjoy ahead of the weekend’s races.
The Breeder’s Cup Festival begins on Saturday, October 28 and continues throughout the running of the Breeders’ Cup Classic on Saturday, November 4. The exciting line-up of events includes:
Breeders’ Cup Belly-Up Concert Series (Wednesday, November 1 – Saturday, November 4): Set to accommodate up to 600 guests per night, the Breeders’ Cup Belly-Up Concert Series will feature some of the greatest musical acts from the San Diego area for four lively nights of singing, dancing, and mingling with Breeders’ Cup fans.
Bing Crosby Fall Meet (Wednesday, November 1 & Thursday, November 2): Named after iconic actor, songwriter, and singer and founding partner of the Del Mar Racetrack Bing Crosby, this race meeting opens two days prior to the Breeders’ Cup and continues through November 26.
Best at the Barn (Thursday, November 2): The Del Mar Village Association will host an upscale tasting event at the Barn at the Beach venue at Powerhouse Park in Del Mar, which brings together San Diego County’s finest chefs preparing exquisite cuisine, showcases their signature style, with specialty cocktails and wines. Breeders’ Cup Viewing Party (Saturday, November 4): A viewing party capping off the Breeders’ Cup Festival will take place at Barn at the Beach in Powerhouse Park.

Susan G. Komen Orange County’s Dine Out for the Cure

On Thursday, Oct. 12, restaurants all over Orange County will be participating in Susan G. Komen Orange County’s Dine Out for the Cure. Taking place during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Dine Out is sure to be delicious way to make a difference. For every dollar guests spend, anywhere from 10-25% of the restaurant’s profits for the day will go to Komen Orange County.
Varying in their contribution to the breast cancer awareness foundation, all participating restaurants will make a significant impact in the fight against breast cancer, and the restaurants guest’s will enjoy their delectable bites knowing they’ve made a difference.
Participating restaurants include Perry’s Pizza in Huntington Beach, El Mercado Modern Cuisine in Santa Ana, DO Lunch Deli in Santa Ana, Panini Kabob Grill multiple locations in OC, Felix Continental Cafe in Orange, Hatch in Tustin, The Blind Rabbit in Anaheim, and Shuck Oyster Bar in Costa Mesa, with new restaurants being added weekly. Each restaurant will be donating 10% of their sales made on the 12.
