LUNAFEST Film Festival in OC

The Junior League of Orange County, California presents LUNAFEST, a film festival on Saturday, April 2 at the Port Theater in Corona del Mar. LUNAFEST is dedicated to promoting awareness about women's issues, highlighting women filmmakers, and bringing women together in their communities.

This unique film festival highlights women as leaders in society, illustrated through six short films by women filmmakers. The films range from animation to fictional drama, and cover topics such as women’s health, motherhood, body image, aging, cultural diversity, and breaking barriers.

The event includes a premier party, film industry workshops, a silent auction and much more. The Saturday matinee showing is at 2:30 p.m. and the evening showing is at 7 p.m.

After the matinee screenings, guests are invited to hear more about the film making process with a Question & Answer seminar with filmmaker Anna Schumacher, Director of Festival Film “Finding June”.

JLOCC LUNAFEST 2016 will also include an Old Hollywood premiere party.  This red carpet event will include food, drinks, silent auction, prizes, entertainment and a VIP Speakeasy following the Saturday evening showing. All guests are encouraged to dress in their best “Old Hollywood” attire for the party.

Tickets are available here. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Junior League of Orange County, California, Inc. and the Breast Cancer Fund.

As an added bonus the Port Restaurant is giving anyone who mentions Junior league to their waiter, a 10% discount on food and 15% back to JLOCC on April 2.

The Port Theater is at 2905 East Coast Hwy in Corona Del Mar.
