Look Fantastic: No Surgery, No Downtime

For those who are skittish about plastic surgery to improve looks, the answer very well may be Ultherapy, an uplifting ultrasound technology that’s perfect for addressing loose skin on the face, neck, brow/upper eyes, and now decolletage (chest) area.

It’s the latest and greatest anti-aging treatment that’s a fave with celebs like Courteney Cox, and as seen on “20/20,” “The View,” “The Martha Stewart Show,” “Good Morning  America” and many more. At Newport Beach Center for Plastic Surgery,  one of our favorite plastic surgeons, Dr. Nirav Savalia, offers this first and only FDA-approved, non-invasive skin lifting and tightening procedure that can help men and women look years younger, and get this, no-downtime.

The procedure is ideal for those who either want to prevent skin droopiness, or for those who want to lift and improve moderately loose skin in areas of the face, neck and brow. It is also popular for those who may have already had surgical facelift years ago, but want to touch up specific areas, without additional surgery. You can view non-altered before and after pictures here.

Ultherapy uses high-density focused ultrasound to lift, tone and tighten skin while stimulating growth of new collagen deep below, without any disruption to skin’s surface. The one-time, non-invasive procedure can take 60 - 90 minutes and continuously works over time to give you a natural result. Dr.

Savalia works with an ultrasound screen to target the same areas of muscle and deep tissues that are concentrated on during a surgical facelift. You can do a complete treatment to include full face and neck. Or start with a smaller area such as the brow or neck only. If needed, the treatment can be repeated within a fews months to re-target specific areas.

Immediately following treatment, patients will look exactly like themselves, but with a more vibrant-looking appearance to the skin. The no downtime treatment allows you to quickly return to your normal routine.

Ultherapy also works great in combination with other non-invasive treatments such as injectable fillers and Botox.

As a special for Greer’s OC readers, if you mention us you’ll receive a complimentary consultation with Dr. Savalia. You can also take advantage of 20% off select fillers and Botox through Jan 2, 2015, when treated by his exceptional aesthetic nurse, Leslie Stewart, RN. And,  gift certificates can be purchased for many of their treatments and exceptional medical grade skin care products...which make great stocking stuffers!

The Living Christmas Tree

Once again, you can go green for the holidays and rent a Living Christmas Tree.  The Living Christmas Co., founded by Scott “Scotty Claus” Martin, is on a mission to change how the world does Christmas. Martin’s live, potted Christmas tree concept isn’t just about saving a tree; his mission is to offer an entirely sustainable holiday experience.

The rental service will continue its in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and now, in parts of San Francisco, Marin and East Bay County delivery zones. Prices are comparable to having a traditional cut tree delivered to your home, with living tree rental prices that range between $30 and $225. Delivery fees vary depending on tree-size and range between $50 and $100 per tree rental, which includes drop-off and pick-up.

Trees range in heights from 24 inches through 15-feet, The Living Christmas Co. caters to households and businesses of all sizes. The company’s most popular tree year-after-year is the Blue Spruce. Not only does this tree hold ornaments the best, the Blue Spruce also is the most drought-tolerant.

They also feature “The Island of Misfit Trees” that have a slight lean or a pronounced bald spot and are offered at nearly 50% off the premium selection.

The living trees are also Fire-Safe for homes and businesses and were approved by various local fire marshals.

Renting a Tree is super simple, here’s how it works:
1. Select from multiple tree types and sizes, and schedule the delivery and pickup of your tree – all online.
2. Elves deliver the tree on the date specified by the customer.
3. Customers care for the tree with water or ice cubes 2-3 times a week.
4. After the holidays, elves magically whisk the tree away to the “North Pole” to be nurtured until the following year.
5. Customers can even choose to adopt their tree back to celebrate year after year!
