Jazz Hits Newport!

Newport Beach Smooth Jazz Festival

SoCal’s famous Smooth Jazz Festival returns for three days at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach today through Sunday. The show features 25 world-class jazz artists bringing award-winning solo performances in contemporary, soul and pop jazz. 

Tonight’s summer jazz amphitheatre (7 to 10 p.m.) features Euge Groove and Mindi Abair; at Saturday’s golf course and festival grounds (11 a.m. to 8 p.m.) featured artists include Jeffrey Osborne; Summer Jam featuring Norman Brown and Richard Elliott; and Gentlemen of the Night featuring Marion Meadows, Paul Taylor and Warren Mill.

On Sunday (11 a.m. to 8 p.m.) you'll hear performances from Dave Koz, Jonathan Butler, Eric Darius and Maysa; and Sax Pack featuring Jeff Kashika, Steve Cole and Kim Water.

Tickets range in price from $55 for lawn seating to $275 for three-day VIP package. Tickets are available here.

Balboa Island Artwalk The Balboa Island Artwalk kicks off the summer season Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more than a mile, talented local artists will feature paintings, fine jewelry, blown glass, sculpture, and photography. And live music will be played throughout the day. Performing musicians include the Retros, Don Ross Duo, Rick Sherman and Alan Remington, Jim Roberts, Grant Peacock, and Gary Gould.
