New Year, New Experiences, New You at SOCO!

2014 is already underway, but it’s not too late to make good on your New Year’s resolutions. Be more artistic? … Pinot and Picasso at Chuck Jones Center for Creativity 

Bring your own wine to enjoy while spending the night as an artist and painting a portrait of your sweetie during the evening of Thursday, Feb. 6. All materials will be provided, including a 16”x 20” canvas. To reserve a spot, call 949.660.7791. Cost is $30/person or $40/couple. 

Try a new recipe? … Bubbly Brunch at Surfas Culinary District

You keep hearing it’s the most important meal of the day, so visit Surfas Culinary District on Sunday, Feb. 2 at noon and learn how to make a better breakfast. Enjoy a glass of bubbly as you create the perfect poached egg, walnut-brown sugar coffee cake, candied ginger citrus salad, and other brunch items that will impress any guest. On Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m., We Olive’s in-house Sommelier and Cheese Guru will teach you everything you need to know about creating olive oil, cheese, and wine pairings that tantalize your taste buds. Stay Active? ... Slammers FC Celebration at OC Mix

Soccer lovers— this is an event you won’t want to miss! Join the entire Slammers FC family, including special guest Mia Hamm, as we meet some of the people who make this local soccer club the organization it is today! On Saturday, Feb. 8 from 6-10, Slammers is bringing back coaches, alumni, and even a few surprise soccer stars to celebrate! Enjoy an evening of great food and drinks from SOCO eateries like Greenleaf, The Cheese Shop, Michelle haut Chocolate, and We Olive and browse their fabulous auction. Give back to the community? … Camp Project Hope at SOCO Collection

Come to SOCO on Sunday, Feb. 9 from 5-9 pm to celebrate Project Hope Alliance’s work to end childhood homelessness in Orange County. Bring the entire family to experience a free evening of delicious light bites, interactive art, live music and family fun while learning about the ways that you can make a difference in our community. There will also be a 214 sf. motel display to help demonstrate how many families live in Orange County. The Project Hope Alliance serves children in 39 schools throughout Orange County, and is resolved to end homelessness for 500 children in 2014.  Please RSVP at projecthopealliance.org.
