Scout's Honor, a new boutique in the Woodbury Town Center in Irvine, from the same trendsetting husband and wife team Mike and Sarah Dowdell who also own Love and Whiskey, are celebrating their grand opening Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Enjoy cheese and charcuterie from the Cheese Shop, gin punch, stirred rye cocktails, Portola Coffee Lab, and a Richer Poorer giveaway and trunk show. In addition, 10% of the evening’s sales will go to Inspire Artistic Minds, that offers experiences and scholarships in the arts of taste, sight, and sound.
With Scout's Honor, the Dowdells continue to bring another fresh retail experience to Irvine, with a clean, contemporary and bright boutique inspired by heritage surf. They’ve filled the boutique with fashion, accessories and products by local SoCal designers and artisans.
“We are always on the hunt for the next cool designer, crafter, or artist to bring into our boutiques,” said Sarah Dowdell, co-owner of Scout's Honor.
With their quest to support small local and upstart brands, Scout's Honor carries hand-picked selections from men’s modern surf lines including Almond Surf and OurCaste, both based in Newport Beach, and Roark– a clothing line founded in Laguna Beach. Women can shop for comfortable, timeless basics from Bobi, high-end denim from Mother, and one-of-a-kind, handcrafted jewelry from Costa Mesa-based Lili Claspe. The Dowdells also curated a dedicated kids section including pieces from Milk & Honey and Little Highbury.
The range of unique gifts will include portable USB record players, letterpress cards, and fashionable home goods.
Scout's Honor also is bringing Etsy- and Pinterest-inspired crafts to life with their Saturday morning craft classes. You can follow along as an expert leads a project, step-by-step – with materials included. In addition, the boutique also will host classes with one of Orange County’s most sought-after personal stylists, Leslie Christen. Leslie will teach classes on how to edit, organize, style, and wear clothing that works best for your body type.
Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Scout's Honor is at 6226 Irvine Blvd in Woodbury Town Center, Irvine. 949.451.1400.
