Is it just us or are burgers achieving a cult-like following in Orange County? At no other time in OC history could you find this many specialty burger joints. We’re over the moon with the burgers coming out of OC kitchens, including Haven Gastropub in Orange, Crow Burger Kitchen in Newport Beach, The Counter Burger, TK Burger’s six locations in OC, and of course In-N-Out Burger.
We’re still wanting to try Slater’s 50/50 Burger (50% ground beef and 50% ground bacon) in Anaheim Hills and Huntington Beach, plus we’re excited that Los Angeles burger phemon, Umami Burger, is opening its OC flagship at the Packing House in Anaheim.
With all of this burger excitement, let’s not forget that the Daily Grill in Irvine and at Fashion Island serves classic American fare, and some incredible burgers that foodies adore. All of Daily Grill's half-pound burgers are made with certified Angus beef ground fresh daily in the kitchen. At a recent tasting of Executive Chef Phil Kastel new specialty burger (the fire-roasted green chili burger, pepper bacon burger and classic cheeseburger), we were in burger heaven.
So the next time you’re craving a juicy flavorful burger, try a Daily Grill cheeseburger classic topped with double cheddar cheese, 1,000 Island dressing and served with delicious roasted peanut cole slaw and shoestring fries ($13.95); or make it a pepper bacon burger, the same as a cheeseburger classic but with an ample dose of pepper bacon ($14.75). The latest specialty burger on the menu, the fire-roasted green chili burger, is our favorite. It’s topped with jack cheese, chili verde and roasted jalapeno aoli. It comes with a choice of fresh fruit, crispy shoestring fries or peanut coleslaw ($12.95).
Of course save room, if you can, for their excellent strawberry shortcake on a homemade biscuit with homemade strawberry sauce and fresh whipped crème.
Daily Grill offers a happy hour and special appetizer menu starting at $3.95 in the bar from 4 to 7 p.m. daily at both Irvine and Newport Beach locations.
Open 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
