OC Restaurant Week: Chef Demos and Tasting

In celebration of Orange County’s highly anticipated culinary event, the 6th annual Orange County Restaurant Week coming up on Sunday, Feb. 21 to Saturday, March 1, Chef Yvon Goetz of The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar will present a live demonstration today at 6 p.m. from the OC Restaurant Week menu at Sub-Zero and Wolf showroom in Costa Mesa.

On Thursday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m., Chef Rayne Frey of Tabu Grill will prepare a special dish from the OCRW menu too. Attendees can interact with the Chefs and enjoy wine and appetizers, courtesy of BREAD artisan bakery and Cabot Cheese.

Tickets for each demonstration cost $15, 100% of which will benefit Share Our Strength, an organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger in the U.S. Limited tickets are available for advance purchase here. More than 100 restaurants will be participating in OC Restaurant Week. Participanting restaurants can be found online at orangecountyrestaurantweek.com.

OC Restaurant Week Launch Party

Also, don’t miss the OC Restaurant Week launch party on Saturday, Feb. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Newport Lexus. During the event, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy signature samples from the following restaurants and sponsors (a complete list of OC Restaurant Week participants can be found online at ocrestaurantweek.com).

Guests can also sip on wines from Celebrity Cruise Signature Sangria, Freemark Abbey, and La Crema; beers from Hoegaarden and Stella Artois; margaritas by Partida Tequila; and coffee from Kean Coffee. James Wood, mixologist at Scott's Restaurant & Bar, will present a cocktail demonstration for guests. Melissa’s World Variety Produce will provide a fresh fruit and vegetable spread, and BREAD artisan bakery, Sadie Rose Bakery and Cabot Cheese will coordinate a bread and cheese table.

Tickets to the event cost $95 and must be purchased in advance here. Guests must be 21 years or older to attend. Complimentary valet parking will be available (Dove St. and Quail St. entrance).

A portion of ticket sales from this event will benefit Share Our Strength, an organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger in this country.
