Golf For A Cause: Join ‘18 For The Elephants’ and Support Conservation Efforts

As African elephants face increasing threats to their survival, Laguna Beach Philanthropist Oracle Maureen is presenting the inaugural “18 For The Elephants” charity golf tournament, sponsored by Angels Among Us Foundation and benefitting the charity Over and Above Africa. Set for April 10, 2025, at Pelican Hill Golf Club, the event aims to rally Southern California in support of critical conservation efforts for these endangered animals.

Special Connection to Orange County
Kerry David, founder of Over and Above Africa, is also the producer of "Breaking Their Silence: Women on the Frontline of the Poaching War," which held its World Premiere at the 2019 Newport Beach Film Festival. This local connection brings additional significance to our event.

As African elephants face increasing threats to their survival, the Angels Among Us Foundation and Over and Above Africa are partnering to present the inaugural “18 For The Elephants” charity golf tournament. Set for April 10, 2025, at Pelican Hill Golf Club, the event aims to rally Southern California in support of critical conservation efforts for these endangered animals.

"Each moment we delay action inches us closer to an unthinkable reality – a world without these gentle giants," said Oracle Maureen, founder of Angels Among Us Foundation. Elephants are not only symbols of the wild but also highly intelligent creatures with deep social bonds and ancient wisdom.

The tournament supports Over and Above Africa’s conservation approach, which focuses on protecting wildlife while empowering local communities. “Conservation succeeds when local communities become its champions,” said Kerry David, founder of Over and Above Africa. “When villages have an economic stake in wildlife preservation, we see measurable progress in both species survival and human welfare.”

The event begins at 9 a.m. with registration and a networking reception, followed by an 11 a.m. shotgun start. The day concludes with a 4:30 p.m. awards ceremony and dinner reception.

Participants will receive:

  • A 25% discount on accommodations at Pelican Hill Resort
  • Championship golf on a world-class course
  • Five-star culinary offerings throughout the day
  • Skills challenges with conservation-themed prizes
  • Exclusive access to an online auction supporting anti-poaching initiatives

For registration and partnership opportunities, visit AngelsAmongUsFoundation.org/Golf.

Pelican Hill Golf Club is at 22800 S Pelican Hill Rd in Newport Coast.
