Caring for Hairstylists Battling Breast Cancer: The Jill Foundation

The Jill Foundation is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Orange County, with a dedicated mission to assist hairstylists affected by breast cancer. Established in 2010 in memory of Jill Etzold Kester, who courageously battled stage 4 breast cancer, the foundation's primary goal is to honor her legacy by providing essential financial aid to hairstylists employed in Orange County, California.

Jill's story serves as a poignant reminder of the significant challenges individuals face when dealing with breast cancer. Despite her personal struggle, she continued to inspire and uplift those around her until October when she lost her battle. At just 43 years old, she left behind two young daughters, extended family members, and countless friends who cherished her spirit.

In homage to Jill and her enduring legacy, the foundation's mission is crystal clear: to offer support to hairstylists in Orange County, California, who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. The foundation provides financial awards tailored to alleviate various financial hardships, including medical expenses, rent, groceries, childcare, transportation, and more.

Eligibility criteria for assistance include being a hairstylist currently working in an Orange County salon and having received a breast cancer diagnosis within the past year or currently battling the disease, subject to verification by a healthcare provider.

All eligible hairstylists are encouraged to submit their applications to The Jill Foundation at thejillfoundation.org/apply/. The foundation kindly requests that applications be completed, as incomplete submissions will be returned for necessary additions. Applicants are asked to allow at least two weeks for thorough consideration.

To raise awareness of the foundation's mission and the support it provides, hairstylists are urged to engage their salons. The hope is that, with their assistance, a helping hand can be extended to hairstylists facing the daunting challenges of breast cancer. For those interested in organizing fundraisers at their salons, please reach out to The Jill Foundation at 714-504-5153 or via email at info@thejillfoundation.org.

The foundation deeply appreciates the community's time and consideration. For inquiries or to get in touch, please do not hesitate to contact The Jill Foundation at 714-504-5153 or visit the website at www.thejillfoundation.org.
