image

Founder and Chef Tanya Petrovna just opened her third Native Foods in OC at The District at Tustin Legacy. It’s a must even for non-vegans. The original local vegan restaurant features a long list of snacks, salads, handholds (sandwiches or burgers), pizzas made with organic wheat crust, soups, hot bowls, and sweet treats. Petrovna, who’s working on her third cookbook, is taking special orders for Christmas on the popular Famous Native Wellington (pictured above). They always sell out, but you can reserve one today, only $39.95, serves 6 to 8. It’s a puff pastry filled with savory home-made seitan, organic kale, portabello mushrooms, orange glazed yams, delicious stuffing, carmelized onions, with shallot mushroom gravy on the side. It comes frozen and you bake it. Tanya says of you don’t tell guests its vegan, they’ll never know.
