Share Our Selves (SOS) is excited to announce the in-person return of the 29th Annual Wild & Crazy Taco Night on Thursday, May 19 at Plaza Pacifica at the OC Fair & Event Center.
After two years of canceled or modified events, this event promises to be as wild and crazy as ever! SOS is gathering a team of talented and generous chefs from around Orange County who will serve sensational food to over 600 foodies and philanthropists for what has become a distinct signature fundraising event consisting of unique tacos, craft beer, and margaritas.
Over the years, the creative chefs have continuously produced their most original taco recipes, as they personally compete for the most coveted taco as voted by event attendees. In 2021, the YELP People’s Choice Taco winner was Descanso Chef Fonzy De Zuniga’s "The Hakuna Matata" taco featuring confit wild boar al pastor, guajillo salsa, pineapple chamoy, bacon bits, and jicama on cricket infused hand-made corn tortillas.
Other delectable options included a Sweet ‘n Smokey Watermelon Taco with citrus slaw and pico de gallo topped with mango haberno salsa served on a blue corn tortilla from Capo Sunset Grill, and a baked braised greens, caramelized onions, potato, and sweet pea enchilada from Farmhouse’s Richard Mead.
Be a part of the pre-event VIP Party! Participating guests will enjoy early admission and have the opportunity to meet all the chefs and sample their tacos before the general event begins. Event tickets include all-you-can-eat tacos and beverages, including CaliFino Tequila margaritas, beer and hard seltzer from Deschutes Brewery and Barley Forge Brewing, wine and nonalcoholic beverages.
Don’t miss your chance to attend this foodie favorite and support your local community! All proceeds benefit SOS and the vital services we provide to address issues including food &, housing insecurity and overall wellness for our low-income and homeless neighbors.
