Saving the planet one sip at a time in Laguna Beach! Sorrento Grille & Bar’s five course organic wine dinner celebrates Earth Day on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Executive Chef Ryan Adams has created a special, five-course dinner pairing locally sourced, new American dishes with West Coast organic wines.

The menu starts with hangtown fry, an omelette of sorts from the California Gold Rush updated with lobster, egg, caviar, bacon and tomato paired with Domaine Carneros Brut, N.V. Napa; next scallop with speck, greens, fennel and Meyer lemon paired with Benton Lane Pinot Gris, 2008 Napa. A spring soup is prepared with asparagus, morels, corn and duck with Argyle Pinot Noir, 2008 Washington. And salmon with favas, onions, radish, potato and red wine, paired with Gamble Family Red Blend, 2008 Napa; ribeye with mushroom, garlic, watercress and tomato, paired with Del Bondio Rutherford Cabernet, 2006. Lastly dessert, chocolate ganache cake with Zinfandel dark berry foam and carbonated black berry Chateau Felice with ‘Port Style’ Zinfandel, N.V. Napa.
