Sweetfin, Chef-Driven, California Inspired Poke Opens in OC

Sweetfin has officially opened its doors in The OC! Sweetfin’s newest store is located at East 17th St. in Costa Mesa.

Since 2015, Sweetfin has been on a mission to fuel life through freshness with their healthful, gluten-free, and chef-driven poke and plant-based bowls. The fast-casual restaurant serves up both customizable and Signature Bowls from a menu created by Chef Dakota Weiss and strives to provide a culinary experience that is fresh, accessible, and naturally crave-able.

After visiting the Islands, founders Alan Nathan, Seth Cohen, and Brett Nestadt were inspired to bring the authentic Hawaiian dish to Los Angeles, but with a uniquely Californian twist. The brand owns and operates 13 locations across Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego

Sweetfin’s newest concept, the SWEETBOX, has five compartments containing the finest poke ingredients and sauces, separated for your dining pleasure. As with all other items on Sweetfin’s menu, this Sweetbox is 100% gluten-free. The SWEETBOX includes:

  • Signature Yuzu Salmon poke over citrus kale salad
  • Signature Spicy Tuna poke over bamboo rice
  • Chile ginger forbidden rice noodle salad
  • Homemade taro chips dusted in wasabi furikake
  • Ramekins of gluten-free tamari, pickled ginger, and sriracha

The fine-casual restaurant concept takes all the familiar flavors of sushi and puts them in an easy-to-eat, portable, customizable, and affordable bowl.

Their culinary philosophy is centered in our “Pole to Bowl” ethos which means that in sourcing our fish we aim to use the highest-quality and most sustainable raw fish they can find while still maintaining a reasonable price point. The menu is 100% gluten-free and they’re vegan and vegetarian friendly.

Open 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.
