In these unprecedented times, businesses are pivoting and partnering to help one another be successful. The flagship location of Slapfish in Huntington Beach is no exception, as the modern seafood shack is working with local celebrity tattoo artist and Michelada “Guru” Hector “Hek” Valdez to offer take-out Micheladas, available every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Perfect for a weekend brunch or lunch, Slapfish will sell “Tio Hekky’s” single pre-made Micheladas for $7 and Michelada concentrate (add your own beer) for $10, which makes six drinks. The Micheladas are a delicious signature mix of spices, hot sauce, peppers, and Clamato.
Slapfish is also debuting a Breakfast Burrito, made with five fluffy scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon, salsa, and potatoes, for $6. Combos are also available with the Slapfish Breakfast Burrito or their Ultimate Fish Taco and a Michelada for $13.
The Micheladas and Breakfast Burritos are currently available for pick-up only at the flagship Huntington Beach location at 19696 Beach Blvd. and can be ordered by calling Slapfish at 714.963.3900.
“We’re excited to partner with Hek, who has a loyal following in Orange County and beyond, and who is known for his bartending skills that he shows off online and via social media,” said Slapfish CEO and Founder Andrew Gruel. “Over the past month, we’ve been giving back to the community with special deals for families, free meals to First Responders, and these new weekend menu items are just another way to serve our customers and give them something new to enjoy while practicing social distancing at home.”
All Orange County Slapfish locations are giving free meals to First Responders in the cities where there are Slapfish restaurants when they are in uniform or can show their badge. This includes Huntington Beach, Brea, Irvine, and Laguna Beach doctors, nurses, police, firefighters, EMTs, and other medical personnel.
The modern seafood shack has also extended its Kids Eat Free promotion to all day, seven days a week. Typically available only on Wednesdays, Gruel wanted to offer a small gesture to families struggling during this difficult time. The promotion provides one free kids meal with the purchase of another menu item. Kids items include a Kids Fish Taco, Fish Bites (a mini Fish & Chips), Grilled Shrimp Bowl, Salmon Quesadilla, Chicken Tenders, Chicken Taco or a Cheeseburger.
Slapfish also recently introduced a Take-Home Lobster Roll Kit which is a fun activity for couples or families. The easy-to-assemble kit serves two and comes with fresh split-top butter rolls and lobster filling with the ingredients and instructions for lemon mayo, for $40. Once picked up at Slapfish or delivered, it will keep in the refrigerator for four days.
Known for its fresh, high quality and sustainable seafood, Slapfish has locations in Huntington Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach and Brea. (Tustin and San Clemente are temporarily closed.) Customers are encouraged to check online for individual store hours for take-out and delivery through Postmates, DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub. For more information, visit slapfishrestaurant.com.
