Craving dim sum in a big way? Put the new dazzling Capital  Restaurant at Irvine Spectrum on your list of places to dine. The  popular Chinese dim sum and seafood eaterie is already a hot-spot for loyalists who frequent their second location at the Diamond Jamboree. The busy kitchen at Capital can cook up 100 made to order types of dim sum, including favorites such as shiu mai, shrimp har gow, steamed BBQ pork buns and Shanghai dumplings.  Great values on lunch specials served daily until 3 p.m. are priced from $9 to $12.   At dinner, enjoy favorites like the house special lobster, Alaskan King crab, honey-glazed walnut shrimp, French-style filet mignon and classic Peking duck.

These Amazing Shadows

These Amazing Shadows Film enthusiasts mark next Tuesday at 7 p.m. on your calendar for the free Cinema Sage Hill screening of “These Amazing Shadows” featuring a Q&A with director, Paul Mariano.

The film is presented by Newport Beach Film Festival and The Studio at Sage Hill. “These Amazing Shadows” tells the history and importance of The Registry, a roll call of American cinema treasures that reflects the diversity of film. Currently the list of 525 films includes selections from every genre - documentaries, home movies, Hollywood classics, avant-garde, newsreels and silent films. “These Amazing Shadows” shows what American movies reveal about ourselves, what we did, thought, felt, aspired to be, and the lies we told ourselves.

The film, an Official Selection of the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and the 2011 Newport Beach Film Festival features interviews with Christopher Nolan, Tim Roth, John Waters, Barbara Kopple, Rob Reiner, Julie Dash, Wayne Wang, Robert Rosen, Zooey Deschanel, Caleb Deschanel, John Lasseter, George Takei and Dr. James Billington, Librarian of Congress.
