Spring break is just around the corner. Your kids are getting antsy to get outdoors and play. Why not introduce them to the sport of surfing? The Quiksilver Surf Camp is offering a week long, all day camp April 9 to 13. Not only will your kid learn to surf on the gentle waves of upper Newport Beach, but also they will learn lessons on ocean safety, tide movements, wave forecasting, and the importance of our marine environment. As a bonus, you will have the days to yourself and the surfer groms will be exhausted from a fun day at the beach.
Erik Nelsen, owner of the camp, has 25 years surf camp experience. His staff of CPR trained surf instructors will instill a lifelong love for the ocean in even the most timid future surfers. These surf instructors have taught hundreds of kids over the last 8 summers in Newport Beach and understand that the ocean can be intimidating for kids. The gradual sloping, sandy bottom of Upper Newport is the perfect place for kids to try Orange County’s favorite sport.
Spring Recess Surf Camp runs April 9-13th from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The camp fee is $400 which includes surf instruction, access to INT soft-top surfboards and Quiksilver wetsuits, as well as a t-shirt, goody-bag, autograph signing with a pro surfer, pizza party, and a photo of your child surfing.
