After years of baking whoopies, meringue kisses and other sweets for friends while running a commercial stone design company, Tanya von Mittenwald finally closed her business to dedicate time to her real passion, baking. She recently launched Tasty Tempting Treats by Tanya based out of Irvine, where she bakes old-fashioned favorites combined with current trends in flavors and the season.
Tanya’s signature is the whoopie pie, which some could argue is the better parts of a cupcake, just the frosting and cake shaped into a cookie. She takes a traditional whoopie pie and puts her spin on it, offering red velvet with cream cheese filling, stout cake with milk chocolate filling, black currant with absinthe filling, dark chocolate truffle with mint filling, and blood orange with lemon curd filling.
For spring, Tasty Tempting Treats is offering Easter baskets with blood orange and Limoncello whoopies, and even gluten free, sugar free, and vegan options. A set of 10 whoopie big pies cost $30. Other sweet treats include Raspberry lemon cake, chocolate truffle cake, meringue kisses, bourbon pecan pie tassies, and shortbread cookies.
For dog lovers, Tasty Tempting Treats recently added Zeldas Brunch Biscuits, protein-packed treats with Canadian bacon, cheddar cheese, egg, sweet potato, rice, and applewood-smoked bacon; and fancy food for dogs, Stella’s Scones made with grilled top sirloin, organic blueberries, julienned carrots, roasted sweet potatoes, and oats.
All products can be shipped in 1-2 business days. Deliveries only Wednesday through Saturday unless arranged in advanced. Orange County deliveries are available Monday through Saturday.
