Kick Start Your Baking Heart

One of our favorite bakeries in Orange County, Blackmarket Bakery in Irvine will be opening its second location soon at the Camp in Costa Mesa. In anticipation of the exciting new bakery, owner Chef Rachel Marie Klemek, who was just named Golden Pastry Chef of the Year by the Golden Foodie Awards, is launching a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to add a steam-injected, rotating rack bread oven. With this crucial piece of equipment, you can enjoy more delicious loaves, buns and rolls that Blackmarket is famous for.

Blackmarket Bakery is shooting for a November opening at the Camp providing a more convenient place to pick up its famous cakes, cookies, croissants, shortbreads, and meringues, but to amp up the traditional production of wholesome baked goods like loaves, rolls and buns, this exceptional oven is needed. If you can help in anyway, you’ll be greatly rewarded. Even a $10 pledge donation will bring you an invitation to the pre-opening party and a loaf of bread. Pledge $1,000 or more, and you’ll receive a bakery class for up to 4 people with Chef Rachel Marie. With less than a month to raise monies to move forward, the time is now to help.

Blackmarket Bakery is located at 17941 Sky Park Circle, Suite E. in Irvine. 949.852.4609.
