Could Orange County be getting any sweeter? We just celebrated the new ’lette Macarons at Fashion Island, a place for authentic French macarons, we can order French pastries at Pandor Artisan Boulangerie that taste as delicious as macarons in Paris, and now we have Sweet and Saucy Shop, a celeb favorite dessert spot that just opened at Crystal Cove Shopping Center in Newport Coast.
Co-owner and pastry chef Melody Brandon, graduated from Le Cordon Bleu, and opened her first Sweet and Saucy three years ago in Long Beach with her mother, Eileen Francabandera. Their desserts are already favorites of Oprah Winfrey, Tori Spelling and LeAnn Rimes. Sweet and Saucy Shop creates elegant and contemporary custom cakes, cookies, and mini desserts for all occasions. Stop by the dessert bar for a mini key lime pie, cake lollipops, mini s'mores tarts, and assorted desserts in shot glasses filled with chocolate mousse, lemon cream and berries. Or, order a beautiful custom cake, or custom cookies with corporate logos or photos for celebrations.
Sweet and Saucy Shop also stocks vintage-inspired and collectible cake platters, bowls, and cake stands.
Sweet and Saucy Shop is at Crystal Cove Shopping Center, at 7922 East Coast Hwy. in Newport Coast. Open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday; and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.sweetandsaucyshop.com or call 949.715.0920.
