Legendary Ramen Nagi Arrives at South Coast Plaza

The bold flavors and rich aromas of Japanese ramen arrive in Costa Mesa as internationally renowned Ramen Nagi opens its first Orange County location at South Coast Plaza today, March 24. Founded by Master Ramen Chef Satoshi Ikuta, the celebrated brand has built a devoted following worldwide and is expanding its U.S. presence with this highly anticipated opening. This marks its sixth U.S. location, joining its popular restaurants in San Diego, Los Angeles, Arcadia, Palo Alto, and Santa Clara.

Known for its handcrafted noodles, deep umami flavors, and fully customizable bowls, Ramen Nagi offers five signature ramen varieties:

  • Original King – Award-winning tonkotsu pork broth with handcrafted noodles and Nagi pork chashu.
  • Red King – Spicy garlic, chili oil, and cayenne-infused broth with miso-infused minced pork.
  • Black King – Blackened garlic and calamari ink broth, complemented by rich chashu and Nagi spices.
  • Green King – Basil and olive oil-infused tonkotsu broth, finished with grated Parmesan and chashu.
  • Veggie King – A plant-based broth featuring mushroom and cauliflower purée, topped with hashed potato “chashu.”

Beyond its acclaimed ramen, the menu includes karaage chicken, snack gyoza, chashu rice, and other shareable favorites. To commemorate the opening, Ramen Nagi will introduce a Limited King ramen, available exclusively during opening week, along with a new Veggie Gyoza, a permanent addition to its menu.

Designed with a modern Japanese aesthetic, the 1,250-square-foot space combines natural wood, bold Nagi red accents, and an open kitchen framed by traditional noren dividers. With 70 seats, including bar seating, communal tables, and a covered patio, the restaurant offers a stylish and inviting atmosphere for ramen lovers.
