Our Favorite Team

We are big fans of Team Kids, which is changing the trajectory of children’s lives by encouraging them to help others. Since its inception in 2001, Team Kids has organized free and innovative programs in schools that give students the opportunity raise funds for local charities. More than 24,000 students have raised more than $200,000 and 100 percent of the money has gone to youth-serving nonprofits, including those that serve homelessness, the hungry and the environment.

The way we see it, Team Kids is creating an army of community-minded children who are making a difference in their schools, communities and ultimately the world. And it’s preparing future generations to become caring, resourceful and responsible adults.

Team Kids is inviting you to join them on Sunday, May 23 at the 5th Annual Imagine Event at Il Forniaio restaurant in Irvine. (See item below for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the fundraiser.) It’s a fun-filled family event that celebrates Team Kids’ successes with award-winning cuisine, entertainment and a kids’ carnival. There will be a delicious buffet lunch and silent auction from 1 to 4 p.m., and awards and presentations at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $50 for adults, $10 for teens, free for kids 12 and under.

Il Fornaio Restaurant is at Lakeshore Towers, 8051 Von Karman, Irvine. For more information and to purchase tickets, go here.

Awesome Auction

At the Team Kids Imagine Event you can bid on a once-in-a-lifetime personal tour of the intergalactic-like (and top secret to outsiders) Oakley Headquarters with building designer and CEO Colin Baden (pictured above). The adventure includes a helicopter ride, and a tour in a World War II era Soviet t-34 Tank. The Oakley compound in Foothill Ranch includes a 400-seat amphitheater, bunkers, and more. There’s also a Chuck Jones limited edition “Sandlot” featuring his Looney Tunes characters playing baseball in a backyard field signed by the Angels players.
