‘Endless Summer’ Artist in OC!

Jon Van Hamersveld

Meet the man behind the iconic “Endless Summer” poster, as well as an impressive works of art including more than 300 album covers such as the Beatles’ “Magical Mystery Tour,” and the Rolling Stones’ “Exile on Main Street,” as well as concert posters for Jimi Hendrix and Cream.

Last year, John Van Hamersveld celebrated his 50-year anniversary as an artist, and Saturday he’ll will be signing copies of his new book “My Art, My Life” from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Surfing Heritage Museum at South Coast Plaza. It’s a recount of his interesting life with his iconic colorful works from the sixties that inspired pop and counterculture in California.

Currently Van Hamersveld is working from his Coolhous studio in Santa Monica, and you can view his online museum of art here. His repertoire of art includes drawings, illustrations, trademarks, sketches, paintings, photography, and signage.  Level 3, Crate & Barrel/Macy’s Home Store Wing, at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. 714.800.1654.

PaTcHwork!

Our favorite PaTcHwork indie arts & festival is returning Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Santa Ana. It’s the source for local independent artists, crafters and designers—more than 75 unique vendors are participating.

Spend an afternoon enjoying food and drinks from local eateries, listen to tunes, and shop from some of the best SoCal-based artisans selling apparel clothing for men, women and children: handbags, accessories, art, ceramics, home goods, garden finds, jewelry, paper goods, edible treats, pet gear, crochet and knit goods and much more. Check out PaTcHwork’s bike valet, eco-gift wrapping station and diy crafting tables for adults and children. Each vendor is hand-selected by Delilah Snell, owner of The Road Less Traveled.  2202 North Main St. in Santa Ana.
