Dionne Warwick, a six-time Grammy® Award-winning music icon, boasts over 75 charted hits and has sold over 100 million records. Discovered by Burt Bacharach and Hal David in 1961, Warwick recorded 18 consecutive Top 100 singles, including classics like “Don’t Make Me Over,” “Walk on By,” “Say a Little Prayer,” and “A House is Not a Home.” Notably, she clinched her first Grammy in 1968 for “Do You Know the Way to San Jose?”, becoming the first African-American solo female artist of her generation to win the coveted award for Best Contemporary Female Vocalist Performance.
In 1985, Warwick played a pivotal role in the recording of “That’s What Friends Are For,” a global number-one hit that raised awareness and substantial funds for AIDS research, a cause she continues to champion. Additionally, she has supported numerous causes, including The Starlight Foundation, children’s hospitals, world hunger, disaster relief, and music education, garnering recognition and raising millions of dollars in the process. Warwick's contributions extend to iconic moments such as her participation in the all-star charity single, “We Are the World,” and her performance at “Live Aid.”
Acknowledged by AMFAR, the Desert Aids Project, and Clive Davis, Warwick's illustrious career has been celebrated through various honors, including induction into The Grammy Museum and the prestigious 2017 Marian Anderson Award. Her recent ventures include the release of the star-studded duets album, “Feels So Good,” featuring collaborations with contemporary greats, and receiving the 2019 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
