Orange Goes Organic Saturdays!

Old Towne Orange's Farmers and Artisans Market

Supporting sustainable foods is even easier now that Old Towne Orange's Farmers & Artisans Market is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. through November.

And this farmers market is extra special, thanks to executive chef/owner Gabbi Patrick of Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen in Old Towne Orange. She’s been cultivating relationships with farmers for the Saturday farmers' market and carefully making sure their crops hold to the highest standards.

Along with her husband Ed, they’ve formed a coalition of local chefs and restaurants dedicated to supporting the farmer’s market, including Haven Gastropub, Marché Moderne, the Crosby, Bruxie Gourmet Waffle Sandwiches, Park Ave., Napa Rose, Sapphire Laguna, Laguna Culinary Arts, Memphis, Canyon Restaurant and Bar, and Monkey Business Café. Now chefs are purchasing the fresh vegetables and fruits at the market to use in their weekly menu.

More than 20 booths will be offering locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables, specialty food items, food sampling, and more including Guerilla Beekeepers honeys; Carlsbad Aquafarms mussels, oysters, and red ogo seaweed; Pure Land Farms herbs, blueberries, gojiberries, and herb & fruit nursery transplants; Tamai Farms strawberries, cherry tomatoes, super white corn, root and leafy vegetables; Dey Dey's Beef pasture raised, grass fed beef, chicken, lamb, and pork; and foods like Angel Bites Cookies; Gallery on Glassell’s olive oil, tapenades, fruit syrups, sourdough bread, ciabatta, and more; OC Baking Co.’s European artisan Breads, assorted pastries; and florals from Julep's Floral (upscale flower couquets) and Sara Nicole’s flower arrangements.

Contact market manager Brandon Kunkle at 714.348.8158 or brandonohg@gmail.com.

The market is held at Chapman University's Historic Villa Park Orchards Packinghouse parking lot,  at the corner of Cypress Ave. and Palm Ave.
