Newport Beach TV Fest Launches June 5-8, 2025

The inaugural Newport Beach TV Fest, presented by the Newport Beach Film Festival, will take place June 5–8, 2025, at the historic Lido Theater. The four-day celebration of television will spotlight both rising and established stars through screenings, panel discussions and award presentations.

Among this year’s featured events is the Breakout Award Panel, hosted in partnership with Gold Derby on Saturday, June 7. Honorees include Taylor Dearden (The Pitt), Patrick Schwarzenegger (The White Lotus), Brandon Sklenar (1923), Meg Stalter (Hacks), and Chase Sui Wonders (The Studio). The event will feature a panel moderated by Gold Derby Editor-in-Chief Debra Birnbaum.

Additional honorees for 2025 include:

Ralph Macchio, who will receive the Artist of Distinction Award on Saturday, June 7, followed by a Cobra Kai panel with co-star William Zabka and the series’ creators and cast.

Dan Fogelman, creator of This Is Us, will receive the Showrunner of the Year Award on Sunday, June 8, following a live taping of the Los Angeles Times’ Envelope Podcast moderated by Yvonne Villarreal and presented by Julianne Nicholson.

The cast of Yellowjackets will receive the Outstanding Drama Ensemble Award on June 7, with appearances by Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, and Samantha Hanratty.

The cast of Abbott Elementary will be honored with the Outstanding Comedy Ensemble Award on June 8, featuring Quinta Brunson, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, and others.

Previously announced award recipients include Adam Brody (Nobody Wants This), Kate Hudson (Running Point), Sam Rockwell (The White Lotus), and Jason Segel (Shrinking), who will receive Variety’s Creative Impact in Television Award.
