Fans of the wildly popular The Lime Truck needn’t follow a food truck anymore for their favorite Californian fusion specials like beef short rib quesadillas, seared ahi tuna tacos, pork belly nachos and more. The new brick and mortar TLT Food, a fast casual dining destination serving all of the Lime Truck hits and other tasty dishes recently opened at Irvine Spectrum.
Irvine native Chef Daniel Shemtob and his business partner Murray Wishengrad of Newport Beach are thrilled to return home to Orange County with TLT Food Irvine, following the popular Westwood location that opened two years ago.
TLT Food is located by the new Sports Authority and in between LYFE Kitchen and Pho Saigon Pearl. 949.727.1414.
Favorites from the menu include beef short rib sliders with aioli, red onion and arugula; short rib grilled cheese with lime Sambal sauce, grilled onions, cheese blend and cotija crusted sourdough; the sweet and spicy steak taco with marinated steak, Asian slaw, and homemade wontons; and the ultimate taco with 12 hour pulled pork, cotija cheese, homemade guac, chiptole-honey cabbage.
You must try the world famous carnitas fries with 12 Hour pulled pork, cotija cheese, homemade guac, crema, and chiptole-honey cabbage.
Brunch specialties include a devil’s quesadilla with prosciutto, scrambled egg, pico de gallo, cheese and flour tortilla topped with chipotle aioli and cotija cheese; French toast with sourdough, cinnamon, vanilla and fried egg on top, served with fruit and maple syrup; and chimichurri steak scramble with egg, sweet and spicy steak, Asian cabbage, wontons and arugula.
Craft beer, wine and agave-infused limeades complete the inventive menu.
Dishes range from $4 to $12.
Brunch items are available Saturday and Sundays until 3 p.m.
