Join the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel for a rare Wonders of Wyland Reception on Friday, March 6 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in The Terrace Salon at the resort.
The evening will include film highlights from Wyland’s thirty-year campaign to create 100 life size marine life murals in more than 12 countries around the world. His landmark public murals span sides of skyscrapers, sports arenas, and structures and have helped inspire a new generation to look after the environment.
The presentation will share the story of Wyland’s works, from its humble beginnings to the final project for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Through original video footage and photographs, guests can get an up-close look at the murals and one man's dream to change the landscape of art - and to create a gentle reminder to communities around the world that everyone, everywhere can make a difference.
Wyland will also be painting twelve original sumi brush paintings during the reception that will be auctioned off that evening.
The cost is $125 per person with $25 of the ticket price going to support the Wyland Foundation.
Guests who attend the Wonders of Wyland reception and also reserve the Whales, Wonders, and Wyland overnight package that evening will enjoy a VIP meet and greet with Wyland at 6 p.m. where he will personally sign one of his coffee table books.
The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel is at One Ritz-Carlton Drive in Laguna Niguel. 949.240.5088.
