Following an extensive transformation, VEA Newport Beach invites guests and locals to “renew their view” and experience the newly reimagined property. Formerly the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa, the hotel underwent a comprehensive refresh, transitioning into an all-new Southern California luxury destination.
Now, guests can immerse in the pier-inspired welcome experience and lobby, check into the new coastal-inspired luxury guest rooms, indulge and imbibe in the three new restaurant and bar concepts, experience the wellness-focused SpaVEA and high-performance fitness center, and visit the destination pool experience.
Brought to life by esteemed architecture and design firms HBA San Francisco, Gensler, Burton Studio, and Houston Tyner Architects, VEA was redesigned to focus on the most important aspect of the hotel: the ocean view. Interiors feature warm woods, muted neutrals, delicate marble, and sculptural glass for high design without excessive complexity. All guestrooms are completely redesigned to provide the ultimate coastal luxury experience, with room amenities including firepits at select premium rooms, Frette robes and bath towels, crisp linens, luxury Molton Brown bathroom amenities, Nespresso machines, and more. Meanwhile, VEA’s lobby will be a place that brings the outside in, offering an indoor-outdoor experience. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed by an impressive, pier-inspired architectural element that runs the length of the hotel. A massive circular waterfall at the front entrance leads into the luxury lobby, which is enveloped by stunning wave-inspired millwork and a view of the ocean beyond that follows the pier out onto the pool deck.
In addition to its newly designed public spaces and guestrooms, VEA introduces three brand-new culinary experiences to Newport Beach. Under the helm of Executive Chef Andrew Arndt, VEA’s food and beverage offerings include:
VIEW Restaurant & Lounge | A spacious restaurant and lounge that sits at the heart of the hotel, connected to a lanai by collapsible glass doors that seamlessly blend indoors and out; features firepits, cozy seating, live music, abundant greenery, ocean and golf course views; breakfast/lunch/dinner service and late-night offerings are available; cuisine will be coastal Californian with a cosmopolitan perspective, featuring light bites served throughout the day and signature tableside martinis
Elan Café & Bar | A European-inspired coffee bar and patisserie in the lobby lounge, which will transition into a wine bar in the evening with charcuterie and other shareable small plates
Edge Pool & Bar | Beyond the lobby outside lies a poolside terrace bar overlooking the Newport Beach Country Club, with a menu of California-inspired favorites, including local fresh seafood, craft beers, and signature cocktails, including a VEA signature, a frozen Paloma with an Aperol finish
Throughout the remainder of the year, VEA will be putting the final touches on its two new suite categories—four-bedroom Cosmopolitan Retreat suites designed with group travel in mind, ideal for friends’ getaways, wedding parties, family vacations, corporate gatherings, etc.; and mindful-focused Sanctuary Suites for the ultimate relaxed experience at VEA, featuring a spacious bathroom with spa products and a deep soaking tub for rest and respite—as well as its new indoor and outdoor meetings & events spaces.
VEA Newport Beach is located at 900 Newport Center Dr., Newport Beach. For more information and to book reservations, visit veanewportbeach.com.
