National Theatre Live Screening: Nye

Michael Sheen stars as Aneurin “Nye” Bevan in this new National Theatre production exploring the life of the man who shaped Britain’s National Health Service. Written by Tim Price and directed by Rufus Norris, this surreal and powerful play follows Bevan’s journey from coal miner to one of Britain’s most influential politicians. Kaumakaiwa Kanaka‘ole, a five-time Na Hoku Hanohano (Hawaiian “Grammy”) Award-winner, blends traditional Hawaiian chants and falsetto singing with modern influences. Performing alongside award-winning guitarist Shawn Pimental and the acclaimed Hawaiian group Kulaiwi, this program celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the islands through music and dance. Festival Ballet Theatre Presents The Sleeping Beauty

Bestselling author Amy Tan shares insights into her writing process and discusses her latest book, The Backyard Bird Chronicles, which blends memoir, nature observations, and original illustrations. The evening includes an audience Q&A and book signing. Tan’s works, including The Joy Luck Club and The Bonesetter’s Daughter, have been translated into 35 languages. She was awarded the 2021 National Humanities Medal by President Biden. Tickets are $34 to $120.
