Orange County Children’s Book Festival Goes Virtual Sept. 14 - 26

The Orange County Children’s Book Festival is a huge family-friendly event to promote life-long reading and learning. Join authors, illustrators, and celebrities in over 50 free virtual events from September 14-26.

A few special events include:

Be the Change! They have an amazing panel discussion set up with some truly phenomenal guests. Jason Reynolds, Kwame Alexander, and Rep. Katie Porter will be coming together to discuss Social Justice & Action. Orange Coast College instructor Chris Evans will be moderating and it is sure to be incredibly interesting and inspiring.

There will also be a panel discussion set up "Helping Kids Cope with Sadness & Loss During the COVID Crisis” with some truly phenomenal guests. Patrice Karst, Maggie Grinnell, Anastasia Higginbotham, and Melissa Fisher Goldman, LCSW will be coming together to present this panel.

The Arts & Learning Conservatory will be joining the Virtual Orange County Children's Book Festival, Story and Activity Time. They will be performing a number titled, "Best of Broadway" and we can't wait for you to see it! You can learn more about the Arts & Learning Conservatory at artsandlearning.org.

Join Valerie Williams-Sanchez for the Story and Activity Time. She is an author and illustrator who writes positively about children of color.  

Georgeann Irvine from the San Diego Zoo will be an exciting part of the Story and Activity Time! Georgeann is the Director of Corporate Publishing and writes the books under the zoo's publishing company. Her books are about real animals at the zoo that have overcome hardships in their lives.
