Disney Friends Light Up Fashion Island Tree Lighting Ceremony

Fashion Island's annual tree lighting ceremony will once again feature Mickey Mouse and friends on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8 at 5:30 p.m. And, to honor the Diamond Celebration, Disney friends will bring “Disney Holiday Magic,” a festive occasion for the whole family featuring Disney music and character appearances – as well as a magical snowfall.

More than 10,000 guests are expected to arrive both evenings to watch the exclusive holiday performances at Fashion Island as the only location in Southern California to feature the beloved Disney characters at a tree lighting ceremony outside of Disneyland.

The complimentary festivities will be held in the Neiman Marcus-Bloomingdale’s Courtyard at 5:30 p.m. on both evenings. The show will last 20 minutes.

It’s best to arrive as early as possible for best viewing. Some arrive at 11 a.m. to stake out their seats on the Bloomingdale’s-Neiman Marcus court lawn. You can bring lawn chairs and blankets to reserve your spots.

Courtesy trams and shuttles will be operating throughout the evening to take guests to their parking spots.

Fashion Island is at 401 Newport Center Drive in Newport Beach.

Del Mar Fall Food Truck Festival

From pumpkin spice to everything in between, Del Mar will be featuring the best in the SoCal food truck scene this weekend when the fall Gourmet Food Truck Festival pulls up to the track on Saturday, November 7.

Enjoy a variety of seasonal savory and sweet eats as 40 food trucks are expected. Gourmet chefs will be serving their eclectic bests at super prices (most items $6-$8). Free admission to the food truck area held in the seaside concert area with paid racetrack admission.

Then, watch the excitement of dashing dachshunds as they compete for the title of San Diego’s fastest wiener dog at the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Dog Nationals on Sunday, November 8.

2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd. in Del Mar.
