A Cure for the Common Sandwich

From the creators of Chapter One in downtown Santa Ana, comes C4 Deli: the Cure for the Common, a counter service, New York style deli specializing in the simplicity and perfection of a deli sandwich made of hand-cured meat, fresh baked bread from OC Baking Company, and condiments made from scratch daily. The concept just debuted last month to rave reviews for its sandwich menu including homemade porchetta with broccoli rabe; a caprese with mozzarella, tomato, basil, lemongrass pesto and balsamic vinaigrette; and muffuletta with salami, capicola, mortadella, olive salad, and Emmentaler cheese.

You can also order sides such as couscous salad with mint, red bell pepper, cucumber, parsley, garlic, and chopped almonds; a curried broccoli salad with toasted cashews, bacon, white raisins, and curry mayo; and hearts of palm salad with white bean, Soledad Goat Farm's goat cheese, avocado, peas and red wine vinaigrette. Owners Jeff Hall and Jeff Jensen, say the concept of C4 Deli is consistent with Chapter One’s focus of, "local-centric, scratch-kitchen with a worldly, artisan beverage program."

C4 Deli is also proud of its beer and wine selection, with more than one hundred beer, wine and cocktail offerings. Stop by from 3 to 6 p.m. daily for happy hour food and drink specials. Whether you're craving a simple breakfast, a fast paced lunch, late night eats, or libations, C4 Deli will satisfy what you’re looking for.

Open 8 a.m. to midnight Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday; 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Theatergoers at Encore Dinner Theater

At the newly remodeled Encore Dinner Theatre in Tustin, we talked to some theatergoers about their experience after seeing "Fiddler on The Roof." Encore has undergone a 2 million dollar renovation and is the only theatre in the nation where the chandeliers rise into the ceiling at the curtain call like the NY Met. The new theatre is tiered seating without a bad seat in the house. Encore is breaking the myth of the dinner theatre of old. Here's a look at what it's like to see a show at Encore.
