Prjkt Restaurant Group just announced it has inked a 25-year agreement with Santa Barbara County at Goleta Beach for its newest endeavor, SeaLegs Santa Barbara, which will expand the brand’s Southern California footprint from Orange County and Los Angeles to Santa Barbara County.
The 9,500 square-foot oceanfront restaurant will open in early Summer 2022 and will join the award-winning SeaLegs portfolio, which includes SeaLegs at the Beach and SeaLegs Wine Bar LAX. This announcement follows on the heels of Prjkt Restaurant Group’s recent expansion at Huntington State Beach earlier this year and Bolsa Chica State Beach in 2016, both done in partnership with California State Parks.
Located at the edge of the University of California, Santa Barbara campus, and minutes from Santa Barbara airport, SeaLegs Santa Barbara will provide the only beachfront dining option in Goleta. Guests can expect a toes-in-the-sand dining destination with an upscale, yet approachable atmosphere. With two patios, two bars, and three private dining spaces, the restaurant will provide diverse seating options—all with ocean views. The interior design is inspired by the American Rivera, reflecting the colors and textures found along the coastline. Guests can expect light colors, natural fabrics and textures, and nods to the beach throughout the space.
SeaLegs Santa Barbara will tap a local chef to create the Californian menu, anchored in the seasonal produce, local seafood, and artisanal products for which the Central Coast is known. A dedicated beverage program will showcase breweries, winemakers, and liquor distilleries of Santa Barbara County. With plans to serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, the menu will evolve throughout the day and cater to locals and visitors alike.
“We’re thrilled to expand Prjkt Restaurant Group’s footprint along the coast of California with the addition of SeaLegs Santa Barbara,” said Prjkt Restaurant Group CEO, Alicia Whitney. “It’s an honor to be able to bring the SeaLegs brand to such an iconic location in Central California. Prjkt has seen great success with our beach concessions serving locals and vacationers at both Bolsa Chica and Huntington State Beaches, and we’re excited to bring our proven concept to Santa Barbara County.”
SeaLegs Santa Barbara will be led by Prjkt Restaurant Group’s President of Operations, Omar Khashen. Since 2012, Khashen has brought a balanced approach to hospitality management and has a keen focus on the guest experience and cultivation of staff and standards that fuels the success of all seven of Prjkt Restaurant Group’s locations. He has overseen the expansion of the group and helped launch a series of national touring musical and comedy acts within the SeaLegs at the Beach space, as well as several large-scale music festivals on the beach.
Prjkt Restaurant Group is on a mission to change the way locals and tourists alike experience beachfront dining, concessions, and events. SeaLegs Santa Barbara will join Prjkt Restaurant Group’s seven additional businesses located throughout Southern California.
