Fashion, Food and Charity

The ultimate in fashion, food, and charity will be celebrated at the Dream Guild’s annual holiday luncheon Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Charlie Palmer South Coast Plaza. It’s a spectacular luncheon put on by the Dream Guild, a group of fashionable ladies committed to raising funds to eradicate type 1 diabetes through its support of JDRF.

The Dream Guild knows how to throw a fantastic festive event, and this one starts with a Champagne reception and holiday shopping at Montblanc at 10 a.m. There’s going to be amazing raffle items including designer bags, Jo Malone products, items from Neiman’s; and one lucky lady (or man) who purchases an opportunity drawing tickets will go home with a Montblanc timepiece from the
Princess Grace de Monaco Collection valued at $6,500.

Each guest will receive a beautiful fragrance donated by Montblanc as a holiday gift. While at the luncheon enjoy a delicious lunch starting with an appetizer choice of baby red oak salad or Tuscan white bean soup; main course choices include crisped skin Mary's Farm chicken with Black truffle gnocchi, sweet potato puree, roasted root vegetables, crispy salsify, and poultry jus; or slow poached Scottish Salmon with herb-bacon crust, Israeli couscous risotto, acorn squash, Brussels sprouts, red verjus vinaigrette; and 8 oz flat iron steak with blue cheese crust, herb potato rosti, and red wine jus. For dessert, enjoy a trio of chocolate moelleux, cheesecake tart and lemon guava tart.

Tickets cost $125 per person. To order tickets online click here https://jdrf-oc.ejoinme.org/?tabid=423224, or contact the JDRF office at 949.553.0363.

Swallow this Pill

We’re big fans of Flavorpill, a must-read e-mail newsletter filled with culture, art and events in Los Angeles and all of the great cities. And now, Flavorpill is organizing Sony Sessions at Sony music stores in seven cities- a showcase of community music, art, and culture. They’re coming to Sony South Coast Plaza on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m., and you’re invited.

Sony Sessions, hosted by Pacific Festival, features local indie stars Poolside performing, and tasty gourmet tacos from taco asylum, and craft beers and aqua frescas. Don’t leave without an autograph or some artistic tips from local collage artist Devon Tsuno (as featured in Hammer museum at the Venice Beach Biennial). The first 25 guests will receive a free tee designed by Tsuno.

Sony South Coast Plaza is on Level 2, near Gucci.
