Go Team Portola!
Two local baristas from Portola Coffee Lab in Costa Mesa will be stepping onto the national stage at the U.S. Barista Competition in Boston on Thursday and Friday.
You can cheer on Team Portola and receive giveaways, free iced coffee, and enter a raffle to win a Team Portola Track Jacket and a teamportola vinyl at Portola’s viewing parties. Portola at OC Mix, right behind Birdie Juice, will be streaming the United States Barista Competition on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with Ryan, and Friday at noon with Truman.
Portola will be giving away three $25 gift cards bundled with team portola stickers and buttons. One will be given away to an instagram winner, one to a Facebook winner, and one to a Twitter winner. Check Portola’s Instagram, Facebook, and twitter feeds for details. Winner will be announced Saturday.
To enter to win the grand prize, a limited edition Team Portola Track Jacket and teamportola vinyl, shop at one of the surrounding stores at OC Mix and bring the receipt to the viewing party. Each receipt is a separate entrance, so enter as many times as you like Thursday and Friday. The winner will be announced Saturday Morning.
Ryan and Truman are best supported with a caffeinated fan-base. So for the 15 minutes before their set, Portola will serve free iced coffee from a limited batch brewed specially for this event. This coffee will NOT be served at Portola's bar, but rather will be served behind Birdie where we are watching the competition behind Birdie.
