Rock & Roll Hall-of-Famer Sammy Hagar brings a taste of Cabo San Lucas to Huntington Beach with the opening of his flagship Cabo Wabo Beach Club at The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel. An elevated take on Hagar’s world-famous Cabo Wabo Cantina, the 11,000-square-foot Cabo Wabo Beach Club evokes the laid-back, beach town vibe of Cabo San Lucas, while presenting a flavorful menu of coastal Mexican cuisine that perfectly complements the picturesque and captivating oceanfront setting of The Waterfront Beach Resort.
Since opening the doors to his original Cabo Wabo Cantina in 1990, Hagar, who has been named the Honorary Ambassador of Los Cabos, Mexico, has turned a lifelong passion for great food, music and spirits into a thriving and iconic lifestyle brand.
MEXICAN COASTAL CUISINE
Bringing together the easygoing vibes of beach life with elevated cuisine, Cabo Wabo Beach Club features a menu of inspired coastal Mexican dishes. Offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the menu presents unique signature dishes, as well as culinary twists on classic Mexican fare.
Breakfast offerings highlight the abundance of vibrant produce available locally with fresh-squeezed juices and dishes including Mexican Chocolate Chia Pudding topped with island-evoking mango, strawberries, and coconut, and a Farmers Market Fruit Place with the most flavorful seasonal fruit. For those looking for a more substantial coastal Mexican breakfast, Cabo Wabo Beach Club’s breakfast menu features a Pan Dulce Mexican Toast with roasted vanilla-scented pineapple and toasted coconut, as well as sophisticated takes on traditional Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles Con Huevos.
Lunch and dinner menus allow guests to dive deeper into Mexican flavors, beginning with made-to-order tableside Fresh Guacamole with warm corn tortilla chips. Taco lovers will be able to explore a variety of options, ranging from Baja-Style Fish and Carne Asada, to Oaxacan Duck Breast Mole and Short Rib Barbacoa. Ocean-to-table dishes take center stage as guests dine perched over the Pacific Ocean. Already popular are Sammy’s Tequila Shrimp, bright Seafood Ceviche, and indulgent Lobster Enchiladas – all of which are guaranteed to transport diners to the coast of Mexico. Favorites from the sea are also the focal point of a Weekend Seafood Brunch, offered every Saturday and Sunday.
HAND-CRAFTED BEACH BAR COCKTAILS
Cabo Wabo Beach Club’s bar program features the same philosophy as its kitchen, with bold flavors, craft focus, and refined execution. The bar program’s culinary commitment can be seen throughout the beverage menu, with fresh, house-made ingredients and distinctly Mexican flavors, which can be found in a house-made Michelada mix.
In addition to his restaurant concepts, Hagar owns an award-winning portfolio of award-winning, top-shelf spirits, which are highlighted in wide variety of specialty cocktails. The restaurant’s signature Red Rocker and SH-GF Margarita both feature Santo Tequila, the brand Hagar started with TV personality Guy Fieri. A selection of rum-based cocktails features fresh tangerine, pineapple, cherries, and citrus, all given new life by Sammy's Beach Bar Rum, made from pure cane sugar in Puerto Rico.
Tequila lovers will be excited to note that Cabo Wabo Beach Club houses a selection of more than 50 tequilas and mezcals. In addition, the restaurant boasts a focused list of beer and wines, available by the glass and by the bottle.
EVENTS & PRIVATE DINING
With a notable footprint consisting of indoor and outdoor dining, lounge seating, and bars, Cabo Wabo Beach Club offers the perfect backdrop for large events, as well as intimate gatherings and private dining. The indoor dining room features 132 seats, plus 19 seats in the bar and 20 seats in the lounge; while an outdoor dining room will seat 64, as well as offer 22 seats in the bar and 20 seats in the lounge. With exquisite Coastal Mexican cuisine, attention to detail, and gracious service, the restaurant’s location at The Waterfront Beach Resort ensures memorable events, from bridal showers and rehearsal dinners to corporate receptions and holiday gatherings. The restaurant also boasts a private dining room, the perfect space for exclusive gatherings.
GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
In 2008, Sammy Hagar and his wife, Kari, created The Hagar Family Foundation, a dedicated fund that has, to date, given more than $4 million to charities in local communities focused on food relief and children’s causes. As an Orange County resident, Hagar will grow his foundation’s reach locally as he has committed to donating a majority of his personal net proceeds from the Cabo Wabo Beach Club at The Waterfront Beach Resort to Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and to Tilly’s Life Center, an empowerment program for teens.
Hagar’s philanthropic partnership through Cabo Wabo Beach Club is dedicated to CHOC’s Social Service Department to support children and their families who are struggling with the burden of financial and psychosocial obstacles that accompany a child’s hospitalization and treatment. Donations will be sent to CHOC Foundation on a regular basis in perpetuity as long as Cabo Wabo Beach Club in Huntington Beach remains open, and will help support parents so they may focus on their child’s care and well-being.
Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Beach Club is now open at The Waterfront Beach Resort, a Hilton Hotel. For more information, please visit CaboWaboBeachClub.com.
