The classic photobooth has been making its nostalgic comeback by becoming the hit at parties everywhere. In particular, the photobooth has popped up as the surprise guest star of events like the hip and modern wedding. What better way to capture some fun than by hamming it up in a photobooth, keeping one copy for yourself, and the other for the wedding couple to keep as mementos?
If you’re looking to liven things up at your next shindig, consider Pacific Photos, an Irvine-based photobooth rental company. Clients can rent a photobooth for three to six hours and receive unlimited double print photos with customized inscriptions, choice of background color, scrapbook supplies (so the guests can personalize their photos to give to the party hosts), online photo hosting and a CD of all the photos.
Pacific Photos’ booths can fit up to 10 people and best yet, the prints come out in less than 10 seconds. You can even customize the look of the photobooth itself with special graphics and colors. The photobooths are also perfect for corporate events, bar mitzvahs, high school proms, sorority and fraternity formals, birthday parties, too.
As a special to Greer’s OC readers, you can rent a 6-hour booth from Pacific Photos for $1,200 if booked by the end of this year (regular price is $1,600). For a 3-hour weekday rental, Greer’s readers will receive a special price of $900 (regular price is $1000). Just mention Greer’s OC when you call.

Wine shops of the future?
Post by Ian Blackburn, founder of LearnAboutWine.com
Have you noticed the number of niche wine stores and wine bars that have popped up everywhere? Many of them are owned by successful, but exhausted business professionals that decided to peruse a passion, rather than continue on in their current business. While most of these passion oriented business locations will struggle, and many will close, a few will survive and become anchors for the future of wine in our community. But even if they are only around for a moment, they serve an important role of passing on education, assist in discovering and showing new brands, and help preserve wines heritage. As stores, restaurants and wine bars close, the wine business suffers too, as shelf space constricts and new brands go away as fast as they appear, this is part of the truth of wine, In Vino Veritas.
Here is my short list of reasons why you should support a local wine shop, instead of going to the big box retailers:
1. Keep the selection of brands available large and diverse.
2. Keep family-owned local businesses around helps provide your community with a customized selection tailored to your neighborhoods needs, wants and wishes.
3. Keeps bigger stores competitive.
4. Keep wine from becoming a corporate monopoly
5. And the number one reason for shopping and supporting a smaller local store is: SERVICE! Having someone there to remember you, your wants, and provide you with education, service, and enhanced selection.
Remembering that the local store has thousands of wines they could buy, and they selected the wines for their store personally… they will be the best resource to help you find something new, something dependable, and to help you find what you’re looking for and isn’t that worth an extra buck or two?
