Dizzy Bird: Lebanese Rotisserie Chicken Perfection

The founder of Falasophy, known for its Lebanese street food in Irvine Spectrum, launched a new craveable concept with Dizzy Bird, focusing on Lebanese-inspired rotisserie chicken, now open in Mission Viejo. Dizzy Bird stands out with its signature dish: a spatchcock rotisserie chicken, along with a selection of sides, homemade sauces, entrée salads, and chargrilled wraps. The choice to spatchcock chicken is strategic; according to owner Rashad Moumneh, this technique enhances flavor by improving marinade absorption and increasing the surface area for cooking.

Rashad shares that the beloved Silly Bird wrap draws inspiration from the meals he grew up eating in Lebanon, where chicken sandwiches often feature French Fries. Moumneh's twist uses roasted potatoes that his family would use from the previous night's dinner, crafting a sandwich that evokes home-cooked comfort. The Silly Bird Wrap and the Chicken Plate vie for the title of favorites, with their combination of chicken and potatoes wrapped and grilled to create an irresistible dish.

Dizzy Bird's sauce selection is a highlight, boasting homemade options like the flagship Dizzy Bird Sauce, reminiscent of traditional cocktail or fry sauces. Other offerings include the authentic Lebanese garlic sauce "Toum," a health-conscious Goddess Ranch, a herby tzatziki, a lemon vinaigrette, and a pomegranate vinaigrette, ensuring flavors to complement every dish.

Dedicated to excellence, Dizzy Bird prioritizes not just quality food but also exceptional service, aiming to provide an enjoyable dining experience for every visitor.

Looking ahead, Dizzy Bird plans to expand within Orange County, seeking a slightly larger venue to continue offering its unique, crave-worthy cuisine that has already garnered a loyal following.

And, for longtime fans of Falasophy at Irvine Spectrum, stay tuned for a menu refresh (launching in about two weeks) they’ll be bringing back many of the classic dishes they had on the menu there over the years.

Open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Saturday; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
