In honor of its 10-year anniversary, Newport Beach-based B. toffee has partnered with A Market in Newport Beach to create a specialty anniversary recipe available at A Market in Newport Beach beginning October 1. A special ice cream sandwich and toffee cookies both featuring B. toffee bits will be available with a portion of proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Association - Orange County Chapter and the ALS Association.
B. toffee, which features savory butters, fine domestic sugars, and premium Guittard and Callebaut chocolates topped with superior quality pecans, was founded by Newport Beach resident Betsy Thagard in October of 2009.
“Before I launched my business, I had been making toffee for family and friends for years, especially around the holidays, and I was urged to share my handcrafted toffee with the world,” said B. toffee Founder Betsy Thagard. “When I began to dream up B. toffee, I went to A Market and Chef Shelly Register first. A Market became my first client and has remained a valued client ever since. We’re so excited to partner with them to create something delectable and amazing in honor of our 10-year anniversary. Our partnership has truly come full circle.”
“Giving back to the community in a meaningful and impactful way is important to B. toffee and supporting the Alzheimer’s Association, in particular, has been very near and dear to my heart,” says Thagard. “My late father suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. We are proud to support the Alzheimer’s Association’s work in finding a cure.”
Additionally, B. toffee works in conjunction with many other nonprofit organizations throughout Orange County as part of its “B. Giving Initiative” which supports charities. Thagard and her team are committed to making a difference and supporting a variety of causes. B. toffee has partnered with Orange County Ronald McDonald House, Orangewood Foundation, Human Options, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Orange County and many others.
Throughout its ten years in business, B. toffee has expanded and continues to grow. “We make 1000’s of pounds of toffee each month!” adds Thagard.
B. toffee is available at A Market, Whole Foods Market in Newport Beach, Bristol Farms Newport Beach, Roger's Gardens, Williams Sonoma, Dean & DeLuca, Hi-Time Wine Cellars, online, and in many other retail stores. B. toffee also offers custom gifting options including corporate and wedding gifts.
A Market is located at 3400 West Coast Highway in Newport Beach.
