Pig Out in OC

Suckling Pig at Haven Gastropub

It’s not everyday that you can order a whole roasted suckling pig dinner in Orange County. Now you can (with a week’s advance notice) at Haven Gastropub in Old Towne Orange. Executive Chef Greg Daniels is roasting a natural and humanely raised pig for its new bold summer menu.

Haven Gastropub introduces 17 new menu items in line with its concept of serving quality gourmet comfort food. The new offerings include fresh, locally grown and organic seasonal English peas, heirloom tomatoes, asparagus, rainbow carrots, and fava bean leaves. Intricate fresh pork dishes including smoked bacon gazpacho, porchetta di testa (hog’s head roulade), pork rillettes served in a mason jar, toasted sourdough; and the grand whole roasted suckling pig. Sustainable seafood is showcased with a hiramasa crudo, sea bass (line-caught) and seared local U-10 scallops.

The full menu can be viewed here. Each new menu item can be paired with one of the 14 beers on draft or more than 100 bottled craft beers. There are also more than 70 whiskeys, scotches and bourbons, as well nearly 50 wines by the glass.
