Princess Diana. The name alone evokes feelings of compassion, images of beauty and thoughts of pure elegance. Her legacy is more than that of a princess but one of a charitable, compassionate woman. This legacy has been captured in its most raw and untouched form and displayed in the beautiful setting of the majestic Queen Mary.
Onboard, the priceless collection of over 2,000 personal possessions chronicle not only the People's Princess but also the rich history of royals past and present -including King George V and Queen Mary, The Queen Mother and Queen Elizabeth, as well as Prince William and The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.
For the fashionistas among us, there is an elegant dressing room display featuring nine of Princess Diana's dresses and gowns as well as designer dresses chosen by Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and even lingerie worn by Wallis Simpson.
Just as Diana would have wanted it, a portion of the ticket sales will benefit breast cancer prevention and awareness.
Tickets cost $34.95 for adults and $23.95 for kids age 5-11. Tickets can be purchased here.
Food for Summer
Just in time for a healthier summer season, Lazy Dog Café debuted a new “Nutritious and Delicious” menu at its SoCal locations with options full of flavors that aren’t typically considered low-calorie. Every item from the roasted tomatillo chicken enchilada to the pork and chile verde crisp is 650 calories or less. And there’s a new gluten free menu too, with modified versions of Lazy Dog classics. The lighter menu features a wide variety of dishes, including eclectic salads, scrumptious sandwiches, hearty entrees, and sides.
Lazy Dog celebrates the season of salads with beefsteak tomato and mozzarella salad with sundried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, basil, sea salt, and walnut pesto and balsamic vinaigrette; the chopped spinach, feta and chicken with sundried tomatoes, basil, roasted red peppers, carrots, and feta vinaigrette; or the spicy Thai chicken salad with chopped Napa and red cabbage, fresh mint, cilantro, carrots, cucumbers, sweet red bell peppers, and spicy Thai peanut vinaigrette.
Carb-lovers can indulge on brick-oven-baked lavosh crisps, which include the jerk chicken crisp topped with jerk marinated chicken, tiki sauce, mozzarella cheese, roasted red peppers, cilantro, chile flakes, and green onions; or the pork and chile verde crisp topped with tender shredded pork, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, cilantro, roasted tomatillo sauce, Tapatio crema, pickled red onions, carrots, and onion. Sandwiches lovers can enjoy the veggie lavosh sandwich and naked turkey burger, both of which come served with a choice of the chilled broccolini or Japanese cucumber salad.
On the menu also enjoy the roasted tomatillo chicken enchilada with hand-pulled chicken breast, sautéed onions, and black beans, smothered with a tangy housemade tomatillo sauce; and the pan-roasted barramundi fish entrée, with black beans, sautéed zucchini, roasted red peppers, and onions, topped off with cilantro pesto, pickled carrots, onions, and oranges.
In Orange County there are three Lazy Dog locations. 16310 Beach Blvd. in Huntington Beach/Westminster. 714.500.1140. The Market Place at 13290 Jamboree Rd. in Irvine. 714.731.9700. Stadium Promenade at 1623 W. Katella Ave. in Orange. 714.769.7020.
