Plan your Thanksgiving feast with premiere artisan breads from OC Baking Company available at Old Towne Orange Farmers and Artisans Market on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and support diabetes awareness for a cure.

All proceeds from OC Baking Company’s bake sale will go towards the making of “The Human Trial” the first major film about diabetes. The Human Trial will raise the public profile of diabetes -- the fastest growing disease in the U.S. -- and help lead the nation to new support, money and research towards a cure. Baker Dean Kim, who was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes several years ago, knows first hand just how life threatening and life changing diabetes can be and is passionate about awareness and a cure.

OC Baking Company will be baking special items for Thanksgiving including a new fig and pecan loaf, cranberry walnut bread, cinnamon swirl brioche, sweet potato and white chocolate bread, assorted mini baguettes, dinner rolls, and much more.

Celebrate the Holidays Whole Foods Market Style

Join the Back Bay Tavern at Whole Foods Newport Beach for a Top 10 Wine tasting and Holiday Menu Sampler on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Sample four of their 2013 Top 10 wines with recommended cheese pairings, followed by tastes of stuffed pork loin, salmon and cranberry sliders all house made from its meat and seafood departments. They’ll be serving creative seasonal sides of mushrooms stuffed with turkey sausage and butternut squash and green beans with bacon, caramelized onions, garlic, and tomatoes. Finish this non-traditional evening sampling an orange-spiced sweet potato tart from the bakery.

It’s the perfect casual evening to try something new for your holiday meal.

Cost is $20 per person - includes 4 wine tastings and tasting menu.
