It didn’t take long for Cha Cha’s Tacos & Tequila to garner rave reviews from the OC food critic crowd—since it’s August opening, even trés vocal Yelpers are making comments like “tacos were great, would almost get them for the tortillas alone.” Gayot says it’s one of their top ten Orange County new notables restaurants.
Cha Cha’s traditional Mexican-inspired cuisine relies heavily on locally grown produce, slow-cooked rotisserie meats and a variety of hardwood-fired dishes. Specialties such as spit-roasted chicken, a jidori chicken marinated in Yucatan spices hot off the rotisserie, chorizo scramble soufflé, wood-fired baked eggs with fresh chorizo sautéed with yukon gold, green chilies, and Mexican cheeses.
Other standouts include carne asada con huevos, chicken hash, and huevos rancheros. And Cha Cha’s recently added a new brunch menu Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can indulge in bottomless mimosas and a variety of Champagne cocktails made with fresh-squeezed juices, house-made infusions, and seasonal fruit. And on Sundays, live flamenco entertainment by resident band Rumba Tres.?
Open for lunch 11:30 a.m. Wednesday to Sunday; open for dinner from 5 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday, and brunch from 11:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Lounge is open from 4 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday. Happy hour served 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and late night from 10 p.m. to close Friday and Saturday. Downtown Brea is at 110 W. Birch St. in Brea. 714.255.1040.
